Quick Take
- A project is selling NFTs with the right to make a single post daily from their account on the social networking site.
- It has led to a lot of tweets reflecting on the project and the community at large
It was only a matter of time before someone put all three together, with the emergence of NFTs and DAOs.
A group of people are forming around a single account on the social networking site.
The idea is that the creators of the organization are selling eggs. Those who buy the egg NFTs are able to use the account. There isn’t any vetting over the quality of the tweet. A free-for-all.
“I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now,” says one tweet, quoting Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.
A lot of people are very happy with the idea. Many of them are promoting the eggs, potentially trying to pump the value of their own NFTs, while the authors stay hidden behind the shared account
It is possible to promote the owner’s own NFT project or attempt to sell one of their own. The Pudgy Penguin NFT is on sale for just under $30,700.
You might expect that other tweets are sporadic and random as well. A cult NFT collection called Milady Maker, as well as well-known concepts like the UpOnly podcasts, are some of the references. One person used the phrase “go sleep anon” in the language of the telegraph.
The creators of the NFTs might do well if the concept catches on. The collection is being sold on a sliding scale, increasing by 0.1 ETH for every 100 NFTs sold. The collection could net the creators up to one million dollars.
If the account is found to break its rules, the account may be closed. There are restrictions on the use of automated accounts and on taking payments. One person wrote, ” Please Jack don’t ban it,” in reference to the company’s former CEO.
Others were self-reflective. I paid $2,000 for this to be broadcast. The line between genius and madness was thin.
