Artists and content creators are taking control of their brands through NFTs in order to expand the creator economy past the $100 billion mark.

As DAPPS make it easy for investors to connect directly with their favorite artists, galleries are seeing their utility diminish as they have traditionally done the legwork in attracting buyers. The new paradigm is being created by NFTs.
It makes a lot of sense for creators to figure out how they can extract as much value as possible with the creator economy topping $100 billion and OpenSea and Looks doing over $100 million in daily volume.
Danielle Weber wants more artists to take control of their personal branding. NFTs have helped her get around some of the drawbacks of the traditional art industry, she said in an email. NFTs are a new tool for creators.
“I definitely encourage all artists to tokenize their works. What really attracted me to the prospect of entering the NFT art scene is that it made art more accessible to everyone.”
When more people see an artist’s work, they are more likely to purchase it. Direct interaction between artists and fans is possible in the NFT space. The cycle has been created by this.

Genestoux thinks there is an extra burden on creators to promote themselves as they wish. Before creators act as their own managers on their platform, they should ask what relationship they want with their fans.
“After finding out what you can offer on your own, use the NFTs as a contract that you still control.”
Traditional platforms like YouTube and Facebook are easy for people to use and have huge distribution advantages over smaller platforms, but that direct connection with fans is more important.
“I think you should be your own platform. That’s one of the values of having your own relationship with your fans.”
