Bitmain has announced a new line of liquid cooled (LC) miners.
The S19 XP HYT is one of the company’s most efficient models.
The new mining rig has liquid cooling, according to reviewers. It’s the most power-efficient rig from this manufacturer, they say.
These hydro cooling rigs are exclusively for use in Bitmain containers.
Bitmain Rig Packs A Punch
The newly announced mining rig is dubbed “Antminer S19 X-PHY.” It boasts 255 TH/s of processing power and 20.8 J/TH of power efficiency while operating on 5,304 watts, according to Bitmain’s website.
The machine uses liquid cooling to keep things cool while using a liquid coolant flowing through pipes.
The cooling rigs will launch in the first quarter of 2023 for a little under $20,000 per unit.
However, this new chip could have an energy efficiency that is almost as good as Bitmain’s previous best rig – the Antminer S19 XP.
The Bitmain ANTSPACE HK3 is designed to be used in large-scale mining facilities. It is able to support 210 miners and consume up to 1 megawatt of power.
Aiming For Sustainable Bitcoin Mining
Bitmain has been moving into new markets with a focus on developing long-term mining solutions.
Bitmain will be building up to 500MW of clean digital mining infrastructure at Merkle Standard’s hydro-powered facilities in Eastern Washington as part of the joint venture.
Furthermore, Beijing-based semiconductor company Micron has gained a significant stake in one of America’s major crypto-mining facilities via a collaboration with Allrise Capital.
The move might help Bitmain’s U.S. market expansion even further.
The Bitcoin mining hash rate increased by more than 15 percent in a week, according to mining data from the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin mining is the process of verifying transactions made with the digital currency.
Energy Efficient Mining
While Block Inc.’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, revealed last fall that his firm was exploring building an open-source bitcoin mining system based on bespoke silicon to decrease entry barriers for both businesses and people.
In January, Block’s general manager for hardware, Thomas Templeton, announced that the new platform will provide improvements to mining efficiency and other benefits.
Templeton said:
“We’re interested because mining is about more than just producing new bitcoin. We regard it as a long-term need for a decentralized and permissionless future.”
In a related event, Hive Blockchain acquired Intel’s recently introduced energy-efficient blockchain accelerators called Bonanza Mine.
